Job Summary

The Account Supervisor is responsible for nurturing the relationship between the agency and our clients. Reporting to a Senior Account Supervisor, Director or VP, the Account Supervisor will provide ongoing support and leadership for client accounts and will maintain a highly responsive service orientation in all interactions. They must be knowledgeable in both the clients' and the agency’s business. This individual is a team player who communicates clearly with internal teams and is well-versed in a broad range of communications tactics including, video, PR, crisis communications, internal communications, advertising, digital media and more. The Account Supervisor will also be responsible for overall budget and project management for their accounts, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and ROI.

Accountabilities

  • Account strategy, writing and research
    • Write and present detailed, well-researched integrated communications, PR and marketing plans to agency teams and clients
    • Perform research and analysis using the Kane Way process
    • Link communications, PR, branding and marketing to broader business objectives, and ensure plans are designed to achieve measurable outcomes for clients
  • Project scoping
    • Gather information from the client and work with internal and external partners to develop proposals or briefs for new client projects or scopes of work.
    • This may include working directly with digital or research partners to obtain proposals and estimates
  • Scope execution
    • Oversee the implementation of approved plans and strategies
    • Work with the account team to implement research and communications plans
    • Work with the creative team to develop brand, marketing and creative strategies
    • Collaborate with all team members (including contractors, when applicable), providing the input they need to be effective in their roles
    • Ensure scopes of work are executed, pitching in as needed to write content, pitch media and take on other day-to-day tasks
  • Budget management
    • Ensure that all projects remain within the budgets and/or scopes of work
    • Recommend appropriate budgets to clients
    • Provide regular updates of account progress and budget requirements for all assigned clients
    • Approve and manage quotes, estimates and invoices to ensure budget requirements are met and profitability maintained
    • Anticipate and communicate any potential budget issues
  • Client relationship management
    • Form relationships with senior client personnel, with a focus on providing superior and proactive customer service
    • Ensure client relations are positive and stable and keep senior management informed of any potential challenges
  • Account retention, growth and projections
    • Provide exceptional service to your clients, promptly responding to their needs, requests and changes in direction
    • Stay abreast of communications, PR, marketing and branding best practices as well as your clients’ industries in order to bring forth new ideas
    • Set annual growth and retention goals for each of your accounts and, working with your direct supervisor, develop plans to achieve these goals
    • Provide your supervisor with monthly financial projections for your clients, which will aid in staff bandwidth planning
  • Leading, managing and holding accountable
    • Create a vision that motivates and inspires direct reports, providing direction on how they can excel in their own positions while continuing to improve their skills and grow at Kane
    • Hold team members accountable for executing high-quality work recognizing and providing timely constructive feedback
  • Special projects
    • Work on special projects, as needed
