Endocrinologist - Jackson Health System (Miami, FL)
Department: Jackson Medical Group (JMG) Ambulatory Care - Multispecialty Practice
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM plus shared call
Location: Miami, FL (Specific clinic assignment to be determined within Jackson Health System)
Position Summary
Jackson Health System is seeking a dedicated and patient-centered Endocrinologist to join our growing multispecialty team in Miami. This role offers the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population while practicing within one of the nation's most respected public academic health systems.
The Endocrinologist will provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of a full spectrum of endocrine disorders in an outpatient setting, with potential inpatient consultative responsibilities depending on clinic assignment. You will collaborate closely with primary care, surgery, nutrition, diabetes education, and other specialty teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
Average patient volume is approximately 14-15 patients per day, with a mix of funded and unfunded patients reflective of our mission to serve the entire Miami-Dade community.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide expert evaluation, diagnosis, and management of endocrine conditions including diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, metabolic bone disease, and other hormonal conditions
  • Perform comprehensive medical examinations and maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with Medicare/Medicaid and third-party payer requirements
  • Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborate with nursing, diabetes educators, nutritionists, and other clinical staff to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Refer patients to subspecialists and coordinate care across the Jackson Health System
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical meetings, and departmental committees
  • Maintain compliance with all JHS policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Engage patients and families in shared decision-making and education
  • Meet productivity standards and participate in ongoing professional development

Qualifications
Education:
  • Doctorate in Medicine (MD or DO) required

Experience:
  • 3-5 years of related clinical experience preferred (new graduates and fellows are welcome to apply)

Licensure/Certification:
  • Valid Florida Medical License (or eligibility)
  • Active DEA
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Endocrinology
  • American Heart Association BLS (minimum 6 months validity)
  • Additional specialty certifications are a plus
