Description:

As our Security Gaurd, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all guests and team members through ongoing surveillance of all areas of the resort.


This is a seasonal position that may require flexible scheduling availability.

Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • Be readily available and approachable for all guests.
  • Take proactive approached when dealing with guest’s concerns.
  • Always extend professionalism and courtesy to guests
  • Knows local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to the resort.
  • Recognizes and corrects potential safety hazards, such as broken doors or railings, fire hazards, etc.
  • Identifies and corrects potential security problems, such as locking doors after hours, etc.
  • Understands and follows policies and procedures for the resort's key control system.
  • Patrols lobbies, corridors, and public rooms, confers with management, interviews guests and employees, and interrogates persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalisms, and accidents.
  • Patrols public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
  • Warns or ejects troublemakers and cautions careless persons.
  • Obtains assistance for accident victims and writes accident reports.
  • Notifies staff of presence of persons with questionable reputations.
  • Assists management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.
  • Visits all locations requiring special attention as frequently as required.
  • Responds immediately to those emergency incidents and Security requests to which he is assigned.
  • Ensures maximum guest, associate, and resort safety and security at all times.
  • Is courteous, tactful, and helpful, but firm in enforcing resort policies and procedures.
  • Reports in writing on all activities during each shift before leaving the resort, with reports and emergency notifications delivered as directed by the established Security procedures.
  • Performs duties as assigned by the Manager on Duty and responds to directions from managers.
  • Creates and maintains the highest standards of Security at all times.

  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
