Our client in the Milwaukee area is a midsize, well established professional services firm that offers IT reporting solutions to its clients. Their systems allow clients to use web based solutions to manage their costs and save money. They are an IT services company that produces products and custom code applications for their customers. IT is a strategic component of the business model. Therefore, it is a highly visible position.
Job Description:
• The Manager of IS will provide vision and will coordinate all aspects of the Information Systems department.
• Manage, lead and mentor up to 12 direct reports.
• Responsible for EDI coordination, Mainframe programming, VB Script, Help Desk, Networking, and developing custom reports.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a matrix environment while delivering results on time and on budget.
• Responsible for recruiting, hiring, interviewing, training and monitoring performance of all IT staff.
• Administer the department budget and expense reporting. Work with vendors directly on pricing performance.
• Ensure that the company stays current and competitive in terms of IT infrastructure, services, new applications, computer systems and software, security and privacy, network infrastructure, telephone systems and required system upgrades.
Performance Metrics:
  • Maintain TI Help Desk supportturnaround time of 48 hours
  • Maintain on time closure onclient projects of 99% meeting deadlines
  • Maintain all systems planneduptime of 99%
  • Maintain all security risks,intrusions, viruses, etc., at less than a 2% incident rate

Skill Set
• 5+ years of managing direct reports in an IT environment. • 5+ years of Information Systems experience • 1 year managing a help desk environment • Able to read code, Comfortable in a CLI (Command Line Interface) Environment • Proficient in open VMS operating system, alpha or similar mainframe structures, command line programming, and program languages such as basic, C, C++, SQL, HTML; Basic knowledge of network administration and web programming. • Minimum education of an Associate's Degree from a 2 year college or technical college, Bachelor's degree preferred.
