Position Overview
The Media Buyer is responsible for the negotiation and placement of all media for existing clients. As a Buyer, you are responsible for all video, FEP, and advanced TV negotiations and account maintenance. The Media Buyer will be assigned specific clients and be part of a team that manages the account from the start of negotiations to the final campaign wrap up. The successful candidate must also be a creative thinker, incorporating the latest media trends and innovations, including streaming video and online video. Candidate should exhibit a can-do attitude to tackle all assignments, exhibit the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, and be a creative problem solver that participates and takes interest in the agency, the industry, and the success of our clients. The Media Buyer will learn to deal effectively with clients and work closely with our planning group in managing budgets, developing strategies, negotiating media buys, and executing customized enhancements. It is imperative that this candidate follows technology and creative work to stay on top of pertinent information and trends.
Responsibilities
  • Negotiates and places commercials within the television and video marketplace for accounts within an assigned group of markets.
  • Estimates, updates and adjusts all program ratings.
  • Negotiates and documents rates, special placements and added value.
  • Executes all Media plans while adhering to established budgets and timelines.
  • Clearly and accurately communicates orders and changes to media vendors.
  • Monitors buys in progress, arranges for makegoods and credits and is responsible for the post-buy results of all buys.
  • Tracks media expenditures in systems to ensure budget compliance.
  • Researches and maintains record of trends, innovations and changes that affect media buying.
  • Collaborates with clients and media team members and media planners to resolve media billing issues.

Qualification - Required Skills
  • Passionate about advertising and the ability to spread that passion to others.
  • Work hard and smart on several projects at once.
  • Ability to present to an audience.
  • Skilled communicator.
  • Strong mathematical ability required.

Qualifications - Desired Skills
  • One year of agency experience required or 1- 3 years of media buying/planning experience as a junior or assistant buyer at a media agency preferred.
  • Work experience in national/spot television/radio/digital preferred.

Salary Range
$66,500-$66,500 USD
