Job description

The Investment Operations Analyst supports portfolio management, trading, and client account administration. Responsibilities include trade support, account administration, data reconciliation, exception resolution, and operational reporting. This role works closely with Investment Operations, Account Management, and Technology teams and provides a strong foundation for a career in investment management operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Investment Operations & Trading Support
  • Support daily trade execution and order management.
  • Reconcile accounts and verify positions.
  • Maintain trading records and account data.
  • Monitor reports and escalate exceptions.
  • Assist with model maintenance and portfolio implementation activities.

Account Administration
  • Process account requests, including new accounts, deposits, distributions, transfers, and maintenance.
  • Verify account activity across internal systems and custodial platforms.
  • Resolve account discrepancies with internal teams.
  • Maintain account documentation and records.
  • Escalate complex issues as needed.

Data Management & Reconciliation
  • Perform daily reconciliation of account, portfolio, and transaction data.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies and reporting issues.
  • Maintain data accuracy and report integrity.
  • Support reconciliation and operational reporting processes.

Process Improvement & Collaboration
  • Assist with operational improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Support system testing and implementation projects.
  • Collaborate across departments to maintain operational controls and efficiency.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred
  • Experience in investment operations, trading support, portfolio administration, or financial services.
  • Experience with reconciliation, portfolio management, or trading systems.
  • Familiarity with Tamarac or similar investment management platforms.
  • Experience with reporting, data analysis, or database tools.
  • Exposure to Python, SQL, VBA, or other automation tools.
  • Knowledge of investment products, portfolio management concepts, and financial markets.
