The Tax Accountant - Indirect Tax will support the Company's sales and use tax compliance, audits, and planning activities across multiple U.S. jurisdictions. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders (Finance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Supply Chain, and IT) and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting, timely filings, and compliance with state and local tax laws.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns for multiple state and local jurisdictions
  • Review sales and purchase transactions to ensure proper taxability and application of tax rates
  • Assist with use tax accruals and reconciliations between subledgers and the general ledger
  • Support sales and use tax audits, including data gathering, documentation, and audit responses
  • Assist in maintaining tax exemption certificates and related documentation
  • Research sales and use tax issues, including nexus, product taxability, and sourcing rules
  • Monitor changes in state and local tax laws and assess potential impacts to the business
  • Participate in process improvements and automation initiatives related to indirect tax compliance
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to resolve tax questions and improve transactional accuracy

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales and use tax compliance, public accounting, or a corporate tax environment (internship experience acceptable)
  • Basic understanding of U.S. sales and use tax concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze transactional data and identify tax issues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with tax software and ERP systems is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fastpaced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA exam eligibility or progress toward CPA licensure
  • Experience working in a multistate or hightransaction environment
  • Familiarity with tax research tools and sales tax engines (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, or similar)

The target annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education, certifications or licenses, other legitimate non-discriminatory business factors, and the geographic location of the role. In addition to base pay, individuals in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
