We are looking to fill a position for a Design Engineer in the Installation Design Department. This full-time role requires strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Designing and updating parts and assemblies with minimal instruction.
  • Completing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for documentation control and releasing updates.
  • Working closely with vendors to confirm that purchased components meet specifications.
  • Creating technical specifications to support new and existing products and facilitate assembly processes.
  • Reviewing technical documentation for accuracy and making necessary improvements.
  • Supporting production teams by troubleshooting design-related challenges and providing solutions.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field

  • Internship or professional experience in custom mobile equipment is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Knowledge of lean principles and their application in production environments
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and solution development with little or no direction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and technical documentation practices

  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software
  • Understanding of welding processes and their application
  • Basic understanding of bolted joint design
  • Basic understanding of static & dynamic load case calculations
  • Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and its application to weldment design
  • Knowledge of controller applications, new product development design cycles, and project management
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices related to custom utility equipment design and installation
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally and smaller items (1-2 pounds) frequently
