Overview

We are seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to join our Technical Support Team under Global Manufacturing Organization (GM)

The Technical Support Team is a multi-disciplinary team focusing mainly on supporting the technical and business needs of GM Operating facilities.

Your primary role is to handle instrumentation engineering aspects such as designing, developing, installing, managing, and maintaining instruments systems across multiple Downstream facilities. You will also be responsible for providing technical support on high priority systems issues.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Provide technical guidance, support, training, and expertise to plant departments.
  • Monitor instrumentation systems performance across all downstream departments.
  • Assess Instrumentation performance and recommend improvements for system optimization.
  • Develop and maintain lifecycle management activities for instrumentation systems.
  • Establish auditing guidelines and perform frequent instruments audits.
  • Lead the development of new strategies and validate the feasibility of improving company productivity.
  • Ensure manufacturing knowledge is captured in the knowledge repository and continuous improvement is delivered by benchmarking and best practices.
  • Provide awareness sessions and lead technical exchanges and conferences.
  • Maintain Instrumentation systems knowledge repository.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Instrumentation and contribute to the troubleshooting activities.
Minimum Requirements
  • You will hold a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • You will have a minimum of 12 years’ experience in refining /oil and gas plants /petrochemical industries.
  • You will be proficient in the codes and standards in the oil and gas industry, i.e., API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc.
  • You will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • You will be Familiar with field instrument types and applications.
  • You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
