Project Manager – Automation & Smart Manufacturing

Wage range based on experience

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in automation, smart manufacturing, and engineering project delivery. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end project lifecycle management, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality assurance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage project execution across all phases including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery
  • Monitor and control project baselines, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement effective risk mitigation strategies
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, functional specifications, schedules, and safety documentation
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project coordination
  • Manage project financials, including cash flow tracking, cost control, and change management
  • Oversee critical path activities and ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Establish clear stakeholder communication channels and provide regular progress reporting to senior management
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards through quality planning, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing)
  • Support installation and retrofit projects, ensuring proper supervision and execution
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize resource allocation across multiple projects
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction
  • Provide technical support for sales engineering, including scope development and project estimation

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Controls Engineering
  • Minimum 5+ years of project management experience in process automation or engineering solutions
  • Strong knowledge of PLC systems, robotics, and industrial instrumentation
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • PMP certification is considered an asset
  • Professional designation (e.g., PEO) is an asset
