Your Team & Role

As the Director, Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) within IAM & Security Operations, you will own the strategy and delivery of customer identity controls that protect customer experiences while enabling secure digital growth. This role is accountable for customer authentication, identity verification, phone verification, and orchestration-ensuring CIAM capabilities are resilient, measurable, and aligned to a tiered defense control architecture.

You will partner across Security, Engineering, Fraud, Risk, Architecture, and Operations to deliver scalable customer identity control patterns and to improve protection, reliability, and conversion outcomes.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

  • Partner with leadership to set direction for the future of the CIAM Operations program, while ensuring an accurate understanding and in-depth knowledge of daily operations to enhance and improve information security processes across customer authentication, phone verification, identity verification, orchestration and policy-driven flows
  • Partner with engineering and fraud partners to design and implement tiered defense and control patterns that balance security, customer experience, and fraud prevention
  • Contribute to a multi-quarter program roadmap for CIAM platform evolution and control maturity
  • Own key business partnerships and partner with engineering on implementation approaches using toolsets such as ForgeRock, Ping, Prove, and Imperva WAF.
  • Partner with cyber intelligence and fraud partners to establish operational excellence: monitoring, incident response readiness, post-incident improvement, and measurable reliability/performance targets.
  • Develop and maintain policies, standards, and guidance for customer identity controls; ensure risk and compliance expectations are met with clear evidence.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to project and operational teams; remove barriers and accelerate delivery outcomes.
  • Collaborate with architecture teams to ensure CIAM fits a horizontal architecture and integrates effectively across the enterprise.
  • Leverage Security Operations and tool/process specific knowledge as well as organizational and industry knowledge to resolve complex technical/process/people problems
  • Support Post Incident Review processes related to identity and access management and recommend corrective actions
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on identity and access management policies and procedures


The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Significant experience leading customer identity programs and cross-functional teams in a complex enterprise environment of experience in cybersecurity risk management, with a focus on identity and access management.
  • Proven strengths in solution design and program management across identity ecosystems.
  • Strong knowledge of identity and access management principles and best practices.
  • Experience developing and implementing identity and access management policies and procedures.
  • Risk-based identity controls, operational monitoring, incident learnings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Tooling: ForgeRock, Ping, Prove, Imperva WAF


Significant experience and/or deep expertise with several of the following:

  • NIST and ISO 27000 Standards
  • Identity and Access Management
  • Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM)


Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

The salary range for this role is from $147,100.00 to $220,700.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
