Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated IT/OT & IoT Lead to join our ITS Solutions team in San Diego, CA. This role will be responsible for driving the design, development, and implementation of Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions that support manufacturing and business operations.
The ideal candidate will serve as a technical leader and internal consultant, partnering closely with business stakeholders to define strategy, architect scalable solutions, and lead cross-functional project execution from concept through deployment and stabilization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Partner with the ITS Value Stream Lead to develop and execute strategic solution roadmaps aligned with manufacturing and quality objectives.
  • Lead end-to-end implementation of IoT/IIoT initiatives, including scope definition, planning, execution, and delivery of project outcomes.
  • Manage issue resolution throughout the full lifecycle-from inception through closure-ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional projects in alignment with established ITS project methodologies, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of resources to meet key milestones.
  • Act as a trusted internal technology consultant by:
  • Gathering and analyzing business requirements
  • Developing solution concepts, presentations, and prototypes
  • Driving detailed design, development, testing, implementation, and post-go-live stabilization
  • Facilitate and lead critical discussions during blueprinting, design, and implementation phases with stakeholders across IT, OT, and business functions.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, fostering strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Represent IT in business meetings, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and operational needs.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field and six or more years progressively complex experience in programming and computer systems analysis. Additional professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive technical experience in enterprise systems, including manufacturing, finance, HR, or related domains preferred.
  • At least 10+ years of hands-on experience in IT/OT and IoT solution design and implementation.
  • Proven experience designing scalable IoT architectures, including proficiency in industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, IPC, Modbus, OPC UA, and MTConnect.
  • Hands-on experience with IoT data collection, historian, and visualization platforms such as Kepware, AVEVA PI, or Ignition.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based IoT solutions, including deployment of production-scale applications on AWS IoT Core or Microsoft Azure IoT.
  • Experience designing and securing RESTful APIs and webhooks for OT data integration.
  • Familiarity with edge computing, including AI/ML model deployment at the edge.
  • Experience handling high-frequency data processing and working knowledge of database technologies.
