OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
A Maintenance Tech is responsible for keeping the facilities, and equipment, operating and repairing any problems that are identified. This position will handle a variety of different issues as it covers everything from housing apartments to HVAC units.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
  • A successful candidate must have excellent customer service skills and will be responsible for the safe upkeep of a facility, such as all Access houses or admin offices.
  • Must be able to handle and work with tools, must be skilled in a variety of areas including light plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, and light electrical systems. Landscaping and snow removal skills are also required.
  • Duties also include responsible for assigned work orders from start to completion, inspecting houses and admin buildings, maintaining inventory of tools equipment, supplies, responsible for scheduling repairs, work in a collaborative manner as part of the site team when necessary.
  • Responsible for snow cleanup in the winter months, mowing grass in the spring and fall. Must have the ability to operate motorized equipment such as snow removal or other equipment as trained and assigned.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:
This position will support other departments in their requests for building/moving/transferring office furniture or equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in general maintenance and in a maintenance specialty.
  • Specialization in one or more trade, (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping, etc.)
  • Understand basic principles when trouble shooting mechanical, electrical or plumbing issues.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles.
  • Can handle painting and landscaping assignments to the standards of the agency.

Must possess willingness to improve skill set through informal apprenticeship.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in general maintenance and in a maintenance specialty.
