We’re Hiring: Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney
Location: Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Minimum Starting Salary: $90,000 (effective July 1, 2026)
Join a dedicated team committed to upholding justice and serving the community. The Henry County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office is seeking an experienced attorney to manage a dynamic caseload and make a meaningful impact in Henry County through skilled courtroom advocacy and ethical prosecution.

Position Summary
This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of criminal prosecution, criminal defense, or equivalent trial experience. Responsibilities include extensive courtroom work across all levels of court, prosecuting felony, misdemeanor, and traffic cases. The minimum salary reflects candidates with at least five years of experience. Actual compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Virginia and good standing with the Virginia State Bar
  • Valid driver’s license
