Position Overview:
The Construction Engineer - Performance Lead is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving the performance of fabrication and construction activities. This role ensures projects meet quality, safety, schedule, and cost objectives by implementing best practices, conducting performance assessments, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Track fabrication and construction progress against baseline schedules and KPIs.
  • Analyze productivity data and identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
  • Prepare performance dashboards and reports for management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve fabrication and construction workflows.
  • Recommend process automation and digital tools for efficiency.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering specifications, codes, and safety standards.
  • Support audits on fabrication shops and construction sites.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC team to resolve quality issues, root cause studies and corrective actions.
  • Liaise between engineering, procurement, fabrication shops, and site teams.
  • Provide technical support to resolve fabrication and construction challenges.
  • Participate in project meetings and present performance insights.
  • Monitor cost performance and identify potential overruns.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to fabrication and construction activities.
  • Propose mitigation plans for schedule delays and resource constraints.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in construction, fabrication, or project performance measurement engineering role with focus on large-scale infrastructure/energy projects (onshore or offshore).
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes and metrics.
  • Familiarity with construction workflows and project controls.
  • Proficiency in construction/project management software, scheduling tools, and performance analytics software.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Familiarity with BIM, Power BI, Tableu, and other cloud-based collaboration tools
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, which include:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift) on uneven terrain
  • Climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and work at varying heights
  • Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl
  • Lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently
  • Perform repetitive movements involving hands and arms
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and site equipment safely
  • Maintain balance while working on elevated or uneven surfaces
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind)
  • Tolerate exposure to dust, noise, vibrations, and construction materials
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety boots, high-visibility clothing, gloves, and eye protection
  • Respond quickly to site alarms, verbal warnings, and changing site conditions.
