Logistics Specialist 2 in  GAC St. Louis

The Logistics Specialist II will be supporting our Gulfstream Service Center at the St. Louis airport. The focus will be on shipping, receiving, and transportation of parts and materials for our aircraft in the hangar. The position is ideal for someone who has a couple of years of warehouse, shipping, receiving inspection or other related experience. Person selected for this role will need to be able to drive a transport van, box truck, and forklift. 

The compensation range for this role is $22.21 - $25.91 per hour.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 1 year experience in inventory/logistics. Proficiency in inventory systems and Microsoft Office preferred.. Valid Driver’s License required. Position Purpose:Under limited supervision, perform advanced material handling, inventory coordination, and distribution tasks to support complex manufacturing and logistics operations. Ensure efficient and accurate movement, tracking, and documentation of materials while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Provide guidance and support to the team and contribute to process improvements.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
  1. Process pick tickets and material requests by pulling, issuing, and transporting parts to support manufacturing, service centers, spare parts sales, backshops and/or distribution centers .
  2. Operate material handling equipment and company vehicles to move materials between departments and designated locations.
  3. Unload, inspect, and document freight .
  4. Maintain inventory accuracy through proper data entry and use of inventory management systems (i.e. SAP, Corridor, etc.) .
  5. Coordinate material flow to support schedules and customer demands, including AOG and other critical needs .
  6. Demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality throughout daily operations by following established procedures, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring all work meets regulatory and company standards .
  7. Handle, transport and prepare shipment of Dangerous Goods in accordance with DOT, FAA and other applicable standards .
  8. Ensure adherence to brand protection and material handling standards .
  9. Elevate discrepancies with clear communication and follow-up actions .
  10. Maintain clean environment .
  11. Participate in improvement initiatives .
  12. Ability to meet qualifications to obtain (one of) CDI, Q, PQ or RI stamps .
  13. Support inventory accuracy goals through regular and accurate cycle counting .
  14. Support inventory control processes by using handheld scanners for picking, putaway, and cycle count activities .
Additional Functions:
  1. Ability to obtain certification to operate material handling equipment and meet all training requirements .
  2. Support Lean and sustainability initiatives .
  3. Assist in inventory audits .
  4. Perform other duties as required. (i.e. DOT, Hazmat, Special Offloads and Customs and Carrier requirements) .
Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
  1. Must be able to obtain certification to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
  2. Able to comply with FAA Regulations and all Quality procedures to include documentation.
  3. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  4. Must be able to work all shifts and weekends.
  5. Must have a valid driver’s license.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
