Title: Biology Department Teaching Assistant (TA)

Department: Biology

Reports to:  Assigned supervisor in the biology department

Job Summary: Assist biology faculty, primary in laboratory preparation and instruction

Summary of Essential Job Functions: 

  • Attend scheduled lab times, weekly meetings, and occasional make-up labs

  • Assist students during lab and occasionally answer student questions outside of lab 

  • Grade lab work and other assignments in a timely manner as needed

  • Assist with lab setup and cleanup

  • Complete other tasks as needed

Abilities and Characteristics Needed: 

  • Must have an excellent understanding of course content 

  • Must be a reliable, trustworthy, and professional team member

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, leadership potential, and care for peers
