Intramurals / Recreation GAA
The Athletic and Fitness Center is seeking a responsible graduate student with exceptional leadership qualities and an interest in sports to coordinate Chatham University's Intramural Program. Student must possess exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. This student will work with other GAA's as a team to develop innovative and creative programs to enhance wellness on campus. This position will be responsible for climbing wall employees. Some experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. This position includes but is not limited to promoting the programs, refereeing games, setting up IM schedules and events, taking photos, updating the website, as well as other duties assigned by the supervisor for this position.
Responsibilities of the Position:
Attention to detail is imperative.
Manage the promotion of the intramural program and climbing wall activities via conventional and electronic methods.
Website updates such as pictures and stories of outdoor recreational/climbing wall activities
Create a dynamic website that includes up-to-date results, pictures and stories of the intramural activities and competition.
Supervise undergraduate student staff who set up and officiate contests/games.
Responsible for climbing wall student staff
Completing other duties as assigned by the supervisor for this position.
Student staff must participate in online and in person training sessions provided by the Career Development Office. The position is in-person and hours vary depending on availability in relation to building hours. Nights and weekends are required. You will be asked to meet in person at least once per semester. There is a Dress code/uniform that will be required for this position.
All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally, students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.
Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
