CNC Machinist / Operator
$21–$28/hour (includes shift premium).
2nd Shift - 3 Openings, 3rd Shift - 1 Opening
Full-Time | CNC Mills & Lathes
The Opportunity
If you’ve been running CNC machines and are ready for more ownership — this is that next step.
This role is built for someone who already understands CNC machining and wants to take more responsibility for part quality, inspections, and running their own machines — without needing to be a full setup programmer.
You won’t just load parts and hit cycle start.
You’ll be trusted to run your machine, inspect your parts, and keep production on track.
The company has been in business for 65+ years, starting as a small shop and growing into a stable, well-established operation — while still maintaining a hands-on, production-focused environment.
What You’ll Work On
- CNC Mills (high-volume production)
- CNC Lathes (more variety, smaller runs)
Depending on your experience, you may run one or multiple machines at a time.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Run CNC mills and/or lathes to produce production parts
- Load materials, monitor cycles, and keep machines running efficiently
- Identify worn tooling and make basic adjustments as needed
Quality & Inspection (Big Part of This Role)
- Perform first piece and in-process inspections
- Use hand tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Learn and operate CMM and optical comparator equipment
- Take ownership of part quality — not just production output
Day-to-Day Ownership
- Manage your machine(s) and production flow
- Catch issues early and communicate with leads when needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
What We’re Looking For
- 1+ years of CNC machining experience
- Ability to inspect your own parts using basic measuring tools
- Understanding of CNC operations (Mills, Lathes, or EDM)
- Strong attention to detail and quality
Nice to Have
- Experience with offsets or minor adjustments
- Exposure to CMM or comparator inspection
- Ability to run multiple machines
Why This Role Stands Out
- Company with 65+ years of steady growth and stability
- Started as a small shop and expanded into a well-established operation
- Clear path to grow into setup or higher-level machinist roles
- Training provided on CMM and advanced inspection equipment
- Mix of high-volume and variable work (mills + lathes)
- Opportunity to take real ownership of your work
This is a role for someone with 1 year of experience up to 10+ years of experience
It’s also a place where people grow.
Schedule & Overtime
- 2nd and 3rd shift openings available
- Full-time CNC production environment
- Overtime is voluntary
- Optional Saturday shifts available
- Opportunity to move between machines if additional hours are desired
Compensation & Benefits
- $21–$28/hour (includes shift premium)
- Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision) begin the 1st of the month after hire
- 8 paid holidays + 3 floating holidays
- 80 hours PTO annually (accrued)
Additional Perks
- Quarterly “Chip Bonus” based on:
- Safety
- Quality
- On-time delivery
- Inventory performance
- Annual performance reviews with merit increases tied to skill growth
- Pay increases tied to learning new equipment and advancing levels
The Bottom Line
If you’re a CNC operator who wants to do more than just run parts — and start building toward a higher-level machinist role — this is a strong next step.
