Overview

Clinical Quality Specialist (CQS) - Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) 

 

Avance Care is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for an exciting opportunity to grow your career in a role that offers both meaningful patient connection and broader organizational impact. As a Clinical Quality Specialist (CQS), you'll combine direct patient care with leadership in clinical informatics, quality improvement, and performance improvement initiatives. Based at our Durham Primary Care practice next to our Corporate Office, this hybrid role is ideal for a clinician who is energized by innovation, collaboration, and the chance to help shape how high-quality care is delivered across an independent organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care:

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients of all ages
  • Perform assessments, diagnose conditions, and implement treatment plans
  • Order and interpret labs and diagnostic imaging
  • Prescribe medications and perform procedures
  • Promote preventive care and wellness
  • Coordinate specialty referrals as needed

Clinical Quality & Informatics Leadership:

  • Utilize clinical data and informatics tools to drive performance improvement
  • Improve workflow processes, including EHR (Epic) optimization
  • Serve on internal committees and contribute to development of clinical resources
  • Lead provider education and coding optimization efforts
  • Support value-based care and quality improvement initiatives

 Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited MSN or DNP Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program for adults
  • Graduate of ARC accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's or Doctoral Degree Preferred
  • Active, unencumbered North Carolina license
  • Board Certification (AANP or ANCC)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of NP clinical experience
  • Experience in clinical informatics, EHR optimization, or data-driven quality initiatives strongly preferred
