Job Description
The Security Officer reports to the Medical Center Security Manager. Under general supervision, the Security Officer monitors and provides protection and security for facilities, premises, employees, patients and visitors. Ability to communicate tactfully with the general public. Knowledge of methods of security in buildings and grounds institution. Performs routine and repetitive duties following clearly prescribed standards and practices as set forth by the Manager of Hospital Security. Work involves shift work and some overtime. Must be able to use tact and communicate clearly with public.
Minimum Requirements: High School Degree or Equivalent, and 1 year of experience.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma, and one year of relevant experience (Security, Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Emergency Medical Service, Behavioral Health, Counselor, Education, or Military). A Bachelor's degree or other relevant certifications may be substituted for the required work experience. Must obtain and be able to maintain the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety certification (IAHSS) within the first year of employment. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
