Job Description
Industrial Electrician
As an Industrial Electrician you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying electrical devices and systems associated with feeder / branch circuits and over-current protection.
  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical and electronic equipment such as motors, switches, timers, transformers, power rectifiers and photoelectric sensors
  • Operates equipment and tools to complete work such as cutting, threading, bending conduit, removing and replacing conduit, fittings, and junction boxes
  • Installs and connects distribution and utilization equipment components; ensures safety codes and National Electric Codes (NEC) are met prior to installation
  • Draws, reads and interprets electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
  • Conducts weekly / monthly calibrations as required by regulatory agencies
  • Serves as an active member of the Plant Emergency Response Team (PERT); ensures electrical shutdown in case of an emergency
  • Operates forklift or similar machinery as needed
  • Maintains an understanding of and adherence to related State and Federal rules for waste management
  • Utilizes the appropriately required personal protective equipment (PPE), as this position works around hazardous materials
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Education:
  • High-school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Certified Electrical Journeyman -OR- an Associate degree in an electrical related field (required)
Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience as an electrician (required)
  • Previous experience working with PLCs (preferred)
Competencies:
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • Strong knowledge of electrical concepts and National Electric Codes (NEC)
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
