JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Fuel Gas Service Technicianย to lead the installation, maintenance, and technical oversight of our critical fuel gas customers. In this role, you will be the primary expert responsible for ensuring the operational integrity of tanks, pumps, vaporizers, and transport systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Execution:ย Lead the installation, troubleshooting, and rebuilding of fuel gas equipment, including motors, piping, and specialized gas components.
  • System Maintenance:ย Perform comprehensive inspections, servicing and repairs to ensure compliance and reliability.
  • Compliance & Excellence:ย Maintain state certificationsย and participate in ongoingย compliance trainingย to meet industry standards.
  • Safety Leadership:ย Prioritize safety as the foundational element of every task, ensuring all projects meet strict regulatory and internal standards.
  • Operational Support:ย Execute additional technical tasks and special projects as directed by the supervisory team.

This Job is Essential

  • Pressure Management & Regulation:ย Demonstrate proficiency in the mechanical operation and precision installation ofย pressure regulatorsย to ensure stable system flow.
  • Safety System Integration:ย Install and maintainย flash arrestors,ย internal valves, andย Emergency Shutdown (ESV) valvesย in accordance with regulatory placement standards.
  • Overpressure Protection:ย Calibrate and serviceย pressure relief valves, maintaining a deep understanding of varied pressure settings to prevent system failure.
  • Pump & Motor Maintenance:ย Perform full teardowns and rebuilds ofย LPG pumpsย and diagnoseย propylene pumpย issues by inspecting electrical motor wiring connections.
  • Bypass & Flow Control:ย Configure and setย bypass valvesย to manage differential pressure and protect system hardware from cavitation or surge.
  • Vaporizer Technical Support:ย Troubleshootย vaporizerย units, including the verification of electrical wiring and heating element integrity.
  • Pneumatic Systems:ย Installย pneumatic shutdown systemsย to automate the closure of internal and ESV valves during emergency events.
  • Materials & Compliance Standards:ย Apply technical knowledge of piping specifications, distinguishing betweenย Schedule 40 and Schedule 80ย applications and ensuring fittings meet specific 150 PSI vs. 2,000 PSI working pressure requirements.ย 

Essential Functions

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):ย Must demonstrate the ability to study, internalize, and master all associated SOPs. Candidates are required to undergo formal assessment and achieve a passing score on all SOP competency exams.
  • PERC Education Program (PEP):ย Commitment to continuous learning through the completion ofย PEP training modules, including passing all mandatory proficiency tests.
  • State Regulatory Certification:ย Must have the ability to acquire all necessaryย State Certificationsย required for fuel gas service and equipment handling.
  • Continuing Education:ย Proactive participation in mandatory training refreshers to maintain compliance with evolving industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Deep understanding ofย Pressure Managementย (Regulators, Relief Valves) andย Flow Controlย (Bypass and Internal/ESV Valves).
    • Ability to install and calibrateย Pneumatic Emergency Shutdown Systems.
    • Hands-on expertise inย LPG Pumpย rebuilding and electrical troubleshooting forย Propylene Pumpsย andย Vaporizers.
    • Advanced knowledge of piping specifications, including the structural and pressure differences betweenย Schedule 40/80ย andย 150/2,000 PSI fittings.
