Lead Pastor - First Baptist Church, East Bernard

Job Title: Lead Pastor
Job Category: Full Time
Accountability: Elders

Position:

The Lead Pastor is responsible for shepherding, preaching, vision casting, and leading the church in a growing community. As one of the elders, the Lead Pastor is tasked with cultivating a collaborative environment within the elder body and developing growing leaders.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Preaching and teaching
  • Shepherd congregation, staff, volunteers, leaders, and ministry teams.
  • Provide pastoral care to the congregation which includes but not limited to counseling, hospital visits, and other needs
  • Work with elder body in cultivating vision for the future
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Maintain a relationship with God that you enjoy and has influence over your life, appetites, and understanding
  • Love, nourish and enjoy your wife
  • Lead your family with gravity, gusto, and gladness
  • Possess a proven track record of effective leadership and team development
  • Be in agreement with the doctrinal position of the church (consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000)
