Position Overview

Continental is looking for a Payroll Accountant to process staff and craft hours for weekly payroll, vouch and post payroll to the job costing subledgers, applying Union wage scales & prevailing wages to various projects and locations nationwide, report on certified / owner-controlled insurance and time and material projects, generate and distribute labor management reports.

District Overview

A Subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, Continental Fire Sprinkler Company is one of the Midwest's largest and most-respected fire protection contractors. With its headquarters in Omaha, NE, Continental also operates through branch offices throughout the region. Continental offers complete construction services for all markets and project sizes as well as testing and maintenance services. 

Location

 This position is based out of our Omaha, NE Offices. 

Responsibilities

Regular, reliable attendance in the office Monday - Friday

Collect and process staff and craft labor hours from time keeping systems

Research and resolve discrepancies in payroll records

Ensure proper posting of labor to jobs, and cost codes.

Review pay rates for compliance with prevailing wage and union rate schedules

Process certified, insurance, T&M payroll reports

Assist with onboarding and termination of craft personnel

Process subsistence and craft expense reimbursements

Generate labor control reports for management

Qualifications

  Minimum of three years' relevant experience, preferably in a construction firm

Degree, certification or equivalent experience in Finance or Accounting

Strong organization skills with high attention to detail

Ability to perform duties in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner

Prior experience working with Union payroll requirements is highly desirable 

Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word

Experience in Spectrum and SAP software is desirable

  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.

  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
