Job description

AchieveKids is looking for board member candidates with interest in joining the Finance Committee as their committee to support. Specifically, we are looking for a person with financial experience in analysis, auditing, investing, and budgeting. A CPA certification is helpful, though not required.

Expectations of AchieveKids Board Members:

  • Provide management oversight responsibility for the operations and financial integrity of the organization
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the agency’s delivery of services
  • Increase community awareness of the agency
  • Provide strategic direction and insight to the management team through committee participation and other task force activities as requested
  • Serve a three-year term

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for and attend nine board meetings annually, including one board retreat
  • Serve on one board committee
  • Share commitment and passion for AchieveKids’ mission, vision, and values
  • Promote AchieveKids in the community, including announcing events and programs to people in one’s personal and professional network
  • Support and participate in fundraising activities for AchieveKids
  • Make a meaningful annual cash donation, to the best of his/her ability, that shows passion and commitment to AchieveKids
  • Serve as a board officer or committee chair (eventually, not immediately upon joining the board)
