Job description

USGI is seeking a Film Engineer to capture, develop and organize multiple comprehensive, tailorable and professional video products that display the current organizational narrative and efforts across the commandโ€™s area of operations. These products must enhance visibility and understanding of the organization to policy and authority makers across DoD, IA, IC, Administration (National Security Staff) and Congressional leaders. Products will tie into the strategic engagements process that result in the support, authorities, approvals, funding, resources and trust.

** This position is contingent upon contract award**

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work involves capturing audiovisual footage, collaborating with the Strategic Communications (STRATCOMM) Media Team, developing and creating audiovisual products for a range of customers, organizing and cataloging content, and ensuing audiovisual products achieve the desired outcomes and effects of the customer.
  • Manage a large portfolio of audiovisual projects that support SOF communication objectives and strategic outcomes.
  • Coordinates with stakeholders and subject matter experts through the complete cycle of script development, pre-production, production and delivery.
  • Uses knowledge and experience in a wide range of principles, practices, methods, and techniques for communicating information through audiovisual means.
  • Successful performance demands intensive practical knowledge in direction and production of the principles and techniques of visual communication and requires expertise and knowledge of related audiovisual fields.
  • Manages all phases of video production and documentation projects and processes to include coordination, project tracking, supplies inventory, and emerging technologies.
  • Understand Special Operations and organizational terminology to effectively communicate to the targeted audience.
  • Manage and create numerous versions of an audiovisual product based on the audience, classification or time restriction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years supporting joint military and/or Army Special Operations with audiovisual products and production
  • Successfully completed, at a minimum, a bachelorโ€™s degree related to audiovisual or film production
  • Demonstrate mastery of experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Final Cut Pro video and motion graphics editing software
  • Apply knowledge and discretion to conceptualize and design highly complex audiovisual products in environments where no established formats exist
  • Experience coordinating and working with Armed Forces Network (AFN)
  • Experience handling sensitive and classified government materials with no history of operational security (OPSEC) violations
  • Experience conducting audiovisual documentation and collection in austere and hostile environments and conditions
  • Extensive knowledge of special operations equipment, terminology, and operations
  • Experience utilizing and operating advanced unmanned aerial vehicles and nonstandard equipment to capture audiovisual content with traditional, nonstandard, and novel methods
  • Shall possess and maintain a current TS/SCI security clearance
