Job description

Schedule/Hours: Monday-Friday / 40 hours per week

Primary Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, creates and implements short-and-long term strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individual mid-level donors; oversees a variety of mid-level donor activities and communications to maximize the organization's resources effectively and efficiently while providing appropriate avenues for engaging and recruiting new donors; creates strategies to increase identified and potential donor support; prepares analysis of fundraising activities for development of cultivation and solicitation strategies; implements strategies to elevate midlevel donors where possible to major donor status, ensuring that all aspects of the donor database management system are used to maximize donor cultivation

  • Leads all aspects of individual giving for mid-level gifts ranging from $1,000–$4,999, managing both digital campaigns in collaboration with the Communications Department and personalized donor engagement.
  • Builds and stewards a portfolio of annual donors, conducts one-on-one solicitations, and provides donor-facing experiences such as shelter tours and mission updates.
  • Develops and executes multi-channel giving strategies, collaborates with the Development team members to identify prospects and track activity, and ensures strong cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship across the annual giving pipeline.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for any donor inquiries, donation requests, and donor updates using the donor management system.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship of Donors (100%) 
    • Implements stewardship and touch point strategies for a caseload of mid-level donors. 
    • Manages and implements donor recognition benefits and provides unique engagement and cultivation opportunities for mid-level donors. 
    • Executes strategically by building audiences through the gathering of state from the donor database to assess prospects, create prospect lists, and coordinate prospect review; working closely with the immediate supervisor to implement strategies that support on-going mid-level donor work. 
    • Ensures that donor cultivation opportunities are maximized, and that record-keeping is integrated into the   donor database system; provides advice and technical assistance as needed. 
    • Enters donor data for assigned donor portfolio, including donor contact, gift, communication and Moves Management planning information into Interchange.  Donor data entry must follow approved business rules, policies, and procedures for Interchange. 
    • Implements communications plan for mid-level donors to steward them toward continued and increased giving. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: 

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements. 
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language effectively. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints. 
  • Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism. 
  • Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. 
  • Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) frequently. 
  • Work may be performed in an office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like but not limited to the office environment due to travel requirements.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, marketing, communication, liberal arts, or related field,

and

three years progressively responsible experience demonstrating a record of accomplishment in donor development, donor support or related, with prior donor management and donor database experience. 

or

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications:

  • Valid State Drivers License
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred
