Who We’re Hiring:
We are searching for an Entry-Level Mechanic to join our team at Cavenaugh Truck Services! Are you a hands-on technician with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for keeping trucks safe, calibrated, and compliant? Join our growing team! We are a full-service truck shop specializing in the systems that keep trucks on the road and in compliance – but we don’t do heavy engine or transmission work. If you’re looking to build your skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:
- Perform brake system repairs and replacements.
- Calibrate fuel and oil truck meters.
- Steam tanks for repairs and inspection.
- Conduct DOT truck and trailer inspections and safety inspections.
- Replace and repair hoses, lines, and fluid delivery systems.
- Service pump systems and meters on fuel/oil delivery trucks.
- Change oil and safety check large fleet trucks.
What You’ll Bring:
- DOT State Inspector’s license or the willingness to acquire upon employment is required.
- Previous experience in truck or fleet maintenance. ASE certification is a plus.
- Previous experience working with truck/trailer lighting systems is preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with brake systems, pneumatic/hydraulic lines, and fluid delivery systems.
- Driving Requirements
- Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license. CDL preferred but not required.
- Must have positive points on state driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
- Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
- All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
- Physical Requirements
- Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.Â
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.Â
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.Â
