Job description

Engineering Manager | Food Manufacturing

We are hiring an Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations at a food manufacturing facility in Monroe, WI. This is a senior leadership role responsible for capital projects, process improvement, and engineering team development in a dairy production environment. This role includes oversight of engineering at additional facilities with some travel required.


What You'll Own:

  • Lead and develop the engineering team with clear expectations and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Oversee planning, design, and execution of capital projects including equipment installations, facility upgrades, and new production lines
  • Drive process improvement through lean design, waste reduction, and optimized equipment and procedures
  • Manage engineering budget including CapEx, maintenance costs, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety protocols, and company policies in collaboration with EHS
  • Partner with QA to ensure engineering solutions align with product safety and quality standards
  • Develop and implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, QA, supply chain, and external partners


What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 3 years in an engineering leadership role
  • Dairy or cheese manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Proven capital project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in food production
  • CAD, PLC, automation, and controls proficiency
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
  • CMMS working knowledge
  • Comfortable with travel to additional facilities
