About the Role:
We're seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our growing team at Thompson Solutions Group. In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping project success by delivering accurate and thorough cost estimates for electrical work across a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to perform precise quantity take-offs

  • Use estimating software to develop comprehensive project cost proposals

  • Prepare detailed scope proposals for owners, clients, and potential contractors

  • Track bid results, maintain bid board interests, and monitor upcoming opportunities

  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to gather pricing and forecast commodities

  • Collaborate with field leaders and project managers to break down job costs and create detailed breakouts for project turnover meetings
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering preferred

  • Prior electrical experience preferred but not required

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Solid understanding of electrical construction principles, codes, and systems

  • Familiarity with various estimating methods (hard bid, GMP, conceptual budgeting, etc.)

  • Proficient in computer use; experience with electrical estimating software is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners

  • Strong math skills andย the ability to read, write, and speak English

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
