Job description

Quality Technician
We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and hardworking quality technician with a good eye for detail. You will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. You may also be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement.
To ensure success as a quality technician, you should have a strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts, excellent visual awareness, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ultimately, a top-class quality technician can efficiently monitor the integrity and quality of products without impeding production rates.
As a Quality Technician you will:
  • Conduct analyses of raw materials, in-process materials and finished goods checking for quality and ensure that they meet necessary specifications. Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to verify product conformance.
  • Monitor testing procedures and processes to ensure tests performed are done according to item specifications, protocols, and standard test methods
  • Interpret test results and compare them to the specifications and control limits in place while providing recommendations on the appropriateness of data
  • Complete documentation necessary for the support of testing procedures, including inventory forms, data capture forms and equipment logbooks
  • Document and report inspection results, deviations, and non-conformances. Perform daily NCR cart audits to ensure all non-conforming materials are properly identified, documented, and segregated.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated, validated, and maintained properly and ensure safety during operation of equipment
  • Perform routine checks throughout the day to monitor processing, packaging, formulation, and sanitation. Work with production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Assess analytical and testing methods and procedures to determine how they can be improved in the future
  • Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor/QE

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possesses 5 years progressive experience in quality control and inspection or its equivalent technical degree and work experience
  • Has a 2 or 4-year technical degree (preferred)
  • Holds Quality certifications (preferred)
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Has analytical abilities with good attention to detail
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Has experience working with quality management systems
  • Has experience with the use of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauge, etc.

The physical demands of the job are:
  • General Office Environment, PC
  • Light Lifting (occasional 40 lbs. or less)
  • Sitting - frequent
  • Standing/Walking - frequent
  • Stooping/Bending - occasional
  • Prolonged computer usage

Pay Range is typically between $24 - $27 per hour
