Stephenson Dirt Contracting LLC is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of heavy equipment and trucks used in civil construction. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience servicing diesel engines, diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment is safe and reliable. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on diesel engines, heavy equipment, and company vehicles.

  • Inspect and troubleshoot engine, hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems.

  • Maintain accurate service records and document all work performed.

  • Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment checks to ensure safety and performance.

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field when necessary.

  • Collaborate with the operations and field teams to minimize equipment downtime.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.

  • Follow all safety regulations and company procedures.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in construction or heavy equipment.

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.

  • Own tools required; company provides specialty equipment.

  • Valid driverโ€™s license required; CDL preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • A background check will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws.
