Overview
OMNI is honored to be retained by Woodside in their search for a Director of Personal Training to be responsible for the strategic direction and management of all aspects of the training department at Woodside. The Director is also responsible for all training operations and services and must generate revenue to satisfy established budgetary requirements. The goal is to maximize revenues through member penetration and client retention as well through member and employee engagement.
More than a gym, Woodside Health Club is a refined retreat designed to elevate fitness, recovery and overall well-being. With 150+ weekly classes, modern fitness spaces, personal training, tennis and aquatics, Woodside offers something for every fitness journey. Recovery is equally important so additionally we offer nutritious dining, restorative classes, spa services, hydrotherapy and inviting lounge spaces throughout the club.

Responsibilities
The Director of Personal Training leads the vision, strategy and execution of all training services, including personal training (1:1 and small group), Pilates Reformer, training camps and advanced performance offerings such as motion capture analysis and VO₂ max testing through Woodside's industry leading Insights Studio. This leader drives innovation, enhances member experience and ensures the department delivers exceptional results and revenue growth.
Training Strategy & Growth
  • Set the strategic direction for all training programs and identify new offerings that elevate Woodside's value (e.g., wellness technology, stretch programs).
  • Learn Woodside's Training education approach and work closely with the Continuing Education Specialist to ensure proper onboarding, assessment, biomechanics and technical training of all Training team members.
  • Oversee equipment selection for all fitness areas and staying current with industry trends.
  • Partner with Marketing to promote services, analyze performance and drive sales growth to achieve departmental goals.

Financial Oversight
  • Develop and manage the department budget, expenses, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Be responsible for reporting documents including: Monthly Budget Reports, Management Metrics, and Bi-Weekly Payroll Reports.
  • Establish and maintain department systems, policies and procedures.
  • Oversee department supplies and expenses adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Participate and fulfill all requirements set forth in the Continuing Education Curriculum (Woodside University) Program.

Team Leadership
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to the Pilates Manager, Personal Training Coordinator, Health Optimization Specialist and Continuing Education Specialist.
  • Conduct monthly team meetings focused on client retention, revenue performance and sales strategies.
  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding, performance evaluations and ongoing professional development.

Member Experience & Operations
  • Champion service excellence by gathering member feedback and implementing quality control initiatives for member satisfaction.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling and fitness floor coverage including staffing, scheduling, and training.
  • Monitor maintenance and cleanliness of program areas and equipment, reporting any issues to Facilities.

This role is ideal for a dynamic fitness leader who blends strategic thinking, operational excellence and team development to create a high-performing, member-focused training environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in physiology, kinesiology, recreation, health, or related field with strong emphasis in health and fitness required.
  • Certifications in fitness from nationally recognized fitness organizations (e.g., NASM, ACSM, ACE, NCSA) and continuing education are required.
  • 5 - 7 years' experience in supervising fitness staff and facility with strong leadership and analytical skills.
  • CPR/AED Certification required or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire.
  • Ability to work extended hours (beyond 45) may be required in addition to normal club business hours to work special events, promotion, etc. This includes occasional early mornings, late evenings and weekends.
