Job Summary
The People Services Director is a partner to the executive and leadership team members, responsible for defining, developing, and implementing People Service initiatives. Our Highpoint Health - Winchester/Swanee (formally STRHS-Winchester and Sewanee) campus locations include a combined 198-bed acute and skilled care facilities along with more than 20 employed physician practices and more than 750 employees. The PSD is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for all areas of People Services, including employee relations, compensation management, performance management, training and leadership development. This is a hands-on role where the Director oversees a small team and may themselves assist in regularly performing day-to-day human resource and department operational tasks. The PSD reports directly to the hospital CEO, while receiving direction from Lifepoint Division People Services. Many People Service functions are centralized and administered through Lifepoint Business Services (coming October 2025) which includes recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, position control, performance reviews, transactions, employee and management self-service through the Oracle system.

Must-Haves
  • Bachelor of Science degree required.
  • 5 or more years of healthcare (hospital) human resource experience
  • Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local registration relating to Human Resources, i.e., Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Affirmative Action, ADA, FMLA
Nice-To-Haves
  • Experience working locally as part of a larger healthcare system (corporate)
  • Priority given to candidates from Tennessee and Alabama areas
