Flexibility, proactive communication, and creative problem-solving are key to adapting offerings and meeting client needs in a dynamic environment.

Job Title:
Senior National Destination Special Events Sales Manager
Pay Details:
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $100,000 to $120,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
The Senior National Destination Special Events Sales Manager is responsible for driving incremental event revenue by attracting national organizations that intentionally choose OCVIBE as a destination for their events, rather than relying on local or convention-driven demand.
This role is focused on identifying and securing corporate, nonprofit, association, conference, and expo clients who operate nationally and are seeking a compelling, centralized location to host their events. The position builds and converts a pipeline of business where OCVIBE is selected for its unique ecosystem, experience, and venue aggregation, becoming the home base for multi-day programs, gatherings, and large-scale event operations.
This is a highly proactive, externally focused role requiring a strong national network, a strategic sales mindset, and the ability to position OCVIBE as a must-choose destination within the national events landscape.
Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Generation
  • Proactively identify, target, and secure national organizations that plan events across multiple markets and select destinations based on experience, infrastructure, and brand alignment-not geographic necessity
  • Build a pipeline of business that is incremental to local corporate and convention demand, expanding OCVIBE's reach beyond its immediate market
  • Position OCVIBE as a destination-of-choice for organizations seeking centralized event hubs
  • Create and execute a national outreach strategy focused on corporate, nonprofit, association, and large-scale event producers

Leadership & Strategic Support
  • Sell OCVIBE as a fully integrated event destination, leveraging multiple venues and experiences as a cohesive offering
  • Identify opportunities where clients can establish OCVIBE as their recurring or flagship event location
  • Develop solutions that encourage multi-day stays, repeat bookings, and multi-venue utilization
  • Translate client event portfolios into long-term opportunities anchored at OCVIBE

Client & Market Development
  • Establish OCVIBE's presence within national event planning ecosystems, including corporate event teams, third-party agencies, and associations
  • Represent OCVIBE at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking opportunities nationwide
  • Identify trends in how organizations select destinations and adjust strategy to increase competitiveness
  • Build strategic partnerships that expand OCVIBE's reach into new national audiences

Event Coordination & Internal Collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal teams to package OCVIBE's venues as a cohesive, scalable destination offering
  • Provide insight into how national clients evaluate destinations to inform pricing, packaging, and product development
  • Ensure successful transition of business to internal execution teams while maintaining long-term client relationship ownership

Systems & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate account tracking and reporting
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Momentus Elite, Prismm, and related systems
  • Monitor industry trends and recommend strategic adjustments

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 7+ years of experience in national sales, destination sales, or large-scale event/conference sales
  • Proven success sourcing and closing business where clients select a destination intentionally, not out of proximity
  • Proven success closing high-value, complex event deals
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and negotiation skills
  • Strategic thinking and business development expertise
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management systems

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Experience Required - 7+ Year
This position is onsite.
