Description:

The Manager – Content Strategy is responsible for developing and executing social and digital strategies, creating content that engages audiences and contributes to the overall ACC brand across platforms.

This role requires a strong understanding of social media platforms, content trends, and real-time storytelling, as well as the ability to create content that drives audience growth and engagement. The candidate should be a creative and forward-thinking storyteller, with the ability to innovate, think beyond traditional approaches, and identify opportunities to create content that resonates, leads conversations, and shapes emerging trends, while helping elevate the ACC brand across league campaigns and key Conference initiatives.

The candidate will be solution-oriented with excellent collaboration, written, and verbal communication skills, and must be driven to succeed by taking initiative and providing solutions to challenges. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with various constituents at all levels and demonstrates professionalism in all interactions. The ability to work both independently and within a team to meet established goals and deadlines is essential to success in this role.

The ACC intends to fill multiple positions through this posting. These roles will primarily support ACC basketball (men’s and women’s) and Olympic sports, with one position focused on Men’s Basketball and one on Women’s Basketball, based on candidate experience and team needs.


Responsibilities:

Social Media Management

  • Contribute to the development and execution of social and digital strategies across Conference-owned platforms.
  • Create and publish platform-native content that engages audiences and brings ACC stories and key moments to life across Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Manage and execute day-to-day publishing for assigned sports, ensuring consistent and timely content across platforms while supporting coverage across additional sports as needed.
  • Develop and manage content calendars and posting schedules, ensuring alignment with Conference priorities and key moments across assigned sports.
  • Analyze performance and optimize content to drive audience growth and deepen engagement across Conference-owned social platforms.
  • Develop and deliver regular analytics reports, providing insights and recommendations to inform content strategy.
  • Provide real-time social coverage of ACC events, championships, and tentpole events.
  • Collaborate with member institutions, partners, and internal teams to align messaging and amplify content.
  • Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and cultural moments to inform content strategy and maintain brand relevance.

Content Creation

  • Ideate, create, and edit platform-native content, including short-form video (Reels, TikToks, Stories), using social-first storytelling principles.
  • Lead on-site content capture and real-time storytelling for assigned sports at ACC championships, while supporting coverage across additional sports as needed.
  • Support planning and execution of content coverage for ACC events and championships, including coordinating with and providing direction to photographers, videographers, and content teams on-site and remotely.
  • Collaborate with creative and content teams to produce high-quality, engaging content, including leveraging established templates and formats for consistent execution.
  • Contribute to storytelling initiatives that highlight student-athletes, member institutions, and key Conference initiatives.

Digital Media Management

  • Support digital platforms including theACC.com, the ACC App, and newsletters through content creation and editorial support.
  • Collaborate with ACC staff and external partners to implement web updates and ensure content accuracy across digital platforms.
  • Assist in acquiring and managing content for ACC Championship pages and digital platforms.
  • Contribute to overall digital strategy to leverage championships and broader conference initiatives.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in digital media, content creation, social media, or related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must pass pre-employment screens

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and audience engagement strategies
  • Demonstrated content creation ability, experience with video production and editing is a plus
  • Familiarity with content management and workflow tools (e.g., Monday.com, Trello) is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Premiere Pro
  • Produce content efficiently in fast-paced, live-event environments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Work Environment:

This position typically operates in an office setting but also at indoor and outdoor venues including stadiums, arenas, and fields. Additionally, please note the following:

  • Ability to remain standing/walking for up to 4 hours
  • Ability to remain sitting for up to 8 hours at a desk or computer
  • Due to the nature of the ACC’s business, travel may occur to multiple sites as dictated by major and minor event schedules
  • Due to the nature of events indoors and outdoors, you must be able to endure varying weather conditions including wind, rain, and high and low temperatures
  • Understanding that due to the nature of our business, working hours can include working nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
