Registered Nurse Job, 12 Hours Day Shift (7a-7:30p), ED Observation Unit
Powers Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for 2 Parkview Tower to work days at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.
The 2 Parkview Tower Unit is a 14-bed multidisciplinary 24-hour unit located on the second floor of the Parkview Tower within the hospital. Patients over the age of twelve years may be admitted to this unit, but the average age is 65 years. The highest volume of patients will be observation / short stay patients. The most common types of patients admitted to 2 Parkview Tower includes patients with: angina, R/O or Post MI, cardiac dysrhythmia, CAD, COPD, CHF, and syncope / TIA. The top three diagnoses for this unit are: A. Coronary atherosclerosis of native coronary artery, B. Atrial fibrillation, and C. other chest pain.
Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates.
  • Practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Powers Health policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of PH by providing the highest quality care.
  • Provides for the well-being of the community, services the needs of all people and demonstrates the values: dignity, compassionate care, community, quality and stewardship.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Obtains and maintains current certification as required in specialty areas.
  • Obtains and maintains current CPR.
