Description
Position Summary
The Test Operator II is responsible for executing production test operations using established procedures, test equipment, and quality standards. This role supports manufacturing by ensuring electronic assemblies and products are accurately tested, documented, and processed in alignment with corporate test protocols. The Test Operator II works under moderate supervision and contributes to product quality, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety, ESD, and FOD requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up, operate, and monitor production test equipment in accordance with approved work instructions, test procedures, and quality guidelines.
• Interpret visual aids, drawings, schematics, and test documentation to properly configure fixtures and verify product performance.
• Perform functional testing, data collection, troubleshooting of basic failures, and escalate issues to Test Technicians or Engineers as needed.
• Ensure accurate test results by following process controls, documenting findings, and maintaining traceability in company systems.
• Execute retest, debug assistance, and rework support activities as assigned.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas in compliance with 5S, ESD, and FOD controls.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on test processes and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to departmental safety requirements, corporate policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in electronics testing, manufacturing, or related technical fields.
• Ability to read and understand schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and adherence to process.
• Awareness of and compliance with ESD and FOD standards.
• Effective communication and willingness to collaborate, share data, and support team learning.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience operating automated or semi-automated test systems.• Basic electrical knowledge and familiarity with test instrumentation (DMMs, power supplies, oscilloscopes).• Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) or ERP data entry.• Basic soldering skills to IPC standards.• Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.• Experience with PuTTY, Test Stand, or similar test software interfaces.
