Position Overview
The VP of Sales responsible for the strategy and growth of a leading color cosmetic contract manufacturer driving new business development and go-to-market execution in the beauty industry. The candidate shows proven ability to scale contract manufacture from concept to multi-million-dollar success across retail, e-commerce and DTC channels (Amazon, Sephora, Ulta, Target, Wal-Mart). The candidate has expertise in product lifecycle management, creative direction, cross-functional leadership and launching innovations in fast-paced markets.
Job Description
  • Provides business development and retail strategy including advertising campaigns, marketing communications, digital / social media.
  • Proven negotiation of new business partnerships.
  • Develop and manage annual multi-million dollar budgets.
  • Proven PR strategy for launching new business partnerships.
  • Develop strategy to scale new business for contract manufacturing.
  • Set goals for the business development team and develop strategies to meet those goals.
  • Shows increased sales by 50% or more.
  • Developed short-term and long-term strategies for new product pipeline.
  • Business Analysis: Track KPIs and ROI to adjust strategy in rapidly changing cosmetic markets.
  • Lead sales and marketing team to create company growth.
  • Create and manage the sales team's annual communication plan and budget.
  • Conduct group and individual sales presentations at corporate offices and tradeshows including Makeup LA & New York, HBA, Cosmoprof, and AAD Shows.
  • Lead team to conduct sales and market analysis and monthly product sales.
  • Recognize new market opportunities and conceptualize innovative formulas that are true to specific brand identities.
  • Show expertise with contract clients looking to build their branded portfolio.
  • Experience in contract manufacturing and private label, leading cross-functional teams across R&D, operations, packaging, and quality to bring products from concept to shelf while managing the real-world complexities of cost, timelines, and scale.
  • Experience in creating and executing highly effective global marketing strategies that enhances brand awareness and result in sustainable growth and increased revenue.
  • Specific expertise in product marketing plan development; adept at utilizing superior market research and analytical skills to identify consumer trends.
  • Persuasive, articulate communicator; demonstrated history of developing and delivering successful sales and marketing presentations.
  • Versatile, focused professional with a high capacity for team building and leadership
  • Proven track record of cultivating client relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering results that create long-term value.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • MBA preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in cosmetics OEM/ODM or contract manufacturing
  • Proven track record of building and scaling multi-million-dollar B2B accounts
  • Strong understanding of private label, formulation, packaging, and product lifecycle
  • Experience working with major retailers and e-commerce platforms (Amazon, Sephora, Ulta, Target, Walmart)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and client relationship skills

Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting indie brands and emerging beauty startups
  • Strong knowledge of beauty trends, innovation pipelines, and product development cycles
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in cosmetics manufacturing
