Job Summary:
Elevate is seeking a Manager of Data Science to oversee Risk Management for specific portfolios and channels. This role involves managing a team to deliver predictive models and analytical solutions that enhance profitability.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of data scientists through predictive models and analytical exercises to deliver business value, innovative approaches, and quality execution.
• Set the team vision, participate in short-term and long-term business planning, and effectively work as a liaison between Risk and other areas of the business.
• Efficiently apply data mining methodologies to minimize credit/fraud losses, maximize throughput and approval rates, and develop methods to enhance profitability of Elevate products.
• Manage a team of individuals who can utilize database management, reporting and analysis software to store, organize and manipulate data.
• Present findings and make recommendations to the leadership team.
• Design and oversee underwriting and offer strategies to properly drive our application traffic based on management recommendations.
• Must communicate effectively with other groups, ensure the team’s priorities are aligned with the company priorities, and ensure that he/she meets the prescribed goals.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum 4-year degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years data analyst/modeling experience
• Experience with third-party consumer credit data and non-FCRA compliant consumer data
• Experience with Direct Mail
• Experience extracting and manipulating very large datasets (1 million+ records)
• Experience with database query languages such as SAS, R, Python, etc.
• Proven experience working in fast-paced environment with ever-changing demands
• Leading projects with high visibility and demanding timelines
• Strong communication skills
• Experience in financial services, or risk management
Preferred:
• Computer Science, Math, or Business Degree preferred
• Master’s Degree a plus
