Job title: Filling / Production Operator
Associate of the plant production team reporting to the production and filling supervisor.
Work and train on multiple machines and support team members when needed in any function.
Focus will be Safety, Quality, Production and 5s principles
Job dimensions
  • Follow precise batch formulation, job and ticket instructions utilizing various electronic gauges, valves, meters and other related equipment for mixing, blending, and packaging.
  • Follow all EHS, and Quality procedures to produce products safely, within specification.
  • Using manual and electronic information systems to document numerous data points.

Activities
  • Follows all safety guidelines and rules; environmental and regulatory guidelines; uses all required safety equipment & PPE. Maintains quality and cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
  • Follows all company, plant policies & practices to ensure safety, quality, service, and cost objectives are met.
  • Operate various pieces of equipment including but not limited to mixers, blenders, packaging lines, forklifts, palletizers, basic hand tools and any other devices needed in a safe manner following dept. & plant safety rules.
  • Practice continuous improvement in all processes: safety, quality, cost delivery, production.
  • Participate and supports Bostik's goal of 'Zero' workplace safety and environmental incidents.
  • Make minor adjustments to equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Follow process batch / pick sheets to produce quality products per ISO Standards.
  • Maintains forklift or other related equipment by checking the battery, electrical charger hook-up
  • Daily workspace sanitation and 5s practices

Context and environment
  • Under minimal supervisor work in a fast-paced production environment where safety, accuracy, and speed are essential where simultaneous competing priorities require effective and efficient communication & multi-tasking to succeed.
  • Ability to stand /walk for long periods of time, may lift up to 75 lbs., continuously throughout shift
  • Lifting and reaching to load packaging materials, manually filling boxes, lifting and stacking full boxes frequently.
  • Powder and liquid compounding to produce low risk glues and other adhesives.

Accountabilities
  • Maintain equipment (Minor problem resolution, cleaning and some small maintenance activities) report issues to leadership as needed.
  • Completion of assigned tasks within time allotted (Changeovers, Machine start-ups and production output)
  • Use problem solving techniques to eliminate waste and errors.
  • Adherence to Bostik, OSHA, and local regulations / policies.
  • Understanding of production and process equipment.
  • Working with teams & within teams to achieve results including safety, customer and financial goals, and cleanliness.

Qualifications / experience required
  • High school diploma / GED, ability to read English and perform basic math skills.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to operate manual, automated and semi-automated equipment.
  • Willing to work an off shift and overtime as necessary.
  • Moderate computer skills to be able to interface with printers and kiosks
