Job description

Toyota ofย Clermont is seeking an experienced and driven Automotive Controller to lead the dealershipโ€™s accounting, financial reporting, and administrative operations. This position plays a critical role in supporting operational growth, profitability, compliance, and accurate financial reporting across the dealership.

The ideal candidate will have previous dealership controller experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to build effective relationships across all departments while maintaining a high level of accountability and organization.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all cash management activities, including reconciliations and intercompany transactions
  • Oversee inventories, receivables, and other controlled accounts
  • Supervise accounts payable reconciliation and disbursement processes
  • Monitor the financial position of daily dealership operations
  • Monitor cash balances and cash flow forecasts
  • Manage payroll processes and reporting
  • Maintain monthly and annual accruals and depreciation schedules
  • Oversee employee benefit plans with a focus on cost-effective administration
  • Implement operational best practices and internal control systems
  • Oversee dealership transaction processing systems
  • Maintain strong working relationships with department managers and executive leadership
  • Manage outsourced financial or administrative service providers
  • Maintain franchise relationships and communications
  • Manage communications with Federal, State, and Local government agencies
  • Maintain banking and lender relationships
  • Oversee the preparation and issuance of financial statements and reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end closings
  • Manage external auditors and accounting relationships
  • Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Qualifications
  • Previous Controller or CFO experience within a successful automotive dealership required, preferably Toyota
  • 5โ€“10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience
  • Reynolds & Reynolds proficiency required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and dealership financial statements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support department managers and maintain effective communication throughout the dealership
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Must successfully complete drug screening, background check, and reference check
  • Candidates currently under a non-compete agreement should disclose applicable details during the interview process
