Collections Specialist Job Description:

PrideStaff is working with a local company who is in search of a Collections Specialist to join their team.  The Collection Specialist will handle and manage customer accounts, prioritizing collection efforts, and maintain a positive client relationship while ensuring the timely recovery of outstanding balances.  The ideal Collections Specialist has multiple years of experience in collections, understands Accounts Receivables, and demonstrates exceptional communication and client relationships.  The Collections Specialist is a full-time, in-office, temp-to-hire position with an outstanding and growing team in Grand Prairie, TX. 


Collections Specialist Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Initiate Collection Calls & Correspondence by Email on Past Due Accounts 
  • Organize & Maintain All Assigned Customer Accounts, Ensuring Overdue Accounts Are Current With Payments & Necessary Information 
  • Analyze Past Due Accounts Receivable (A/R) & Strategically Prioritizing Collection Efforts 
  • Follow up & Document Invoices, Credits, Deduction, Disputes, & Payment Histories 
  • Reconcile Customer Short Pays & Quickly Identify & Resolve Discrepancies 
  • Work Closely With The Billing Department to Implement New Processes & Policies to Streamline The Department & Reduce Errors 


Collections Specialist Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • 2+ Years of Collections Experience Required 
  • Must be Able to Easily Review Customer’s Account History & Enforce Payment Expectations While Building Trust & Responding Proactively to Collection Efforts 
  • Demonstrates Excellent Written, Verbal & Listening Communication Skills 
  • Superb Ability to Track Complex Financial Documentation Accurately & Maintain Organized Files For Easy Follow-up
  • Must be Able to Maintain Confidentiality With Sensitive Information by Phone, Email, & In Person 
  • Must be Able to Handle Difficult Conversations & Maintain Strong Relationships With Clients 
  • Must be Able to Maintain Professionalism Under Pressure & Handle Uncomfortable Conversations With Maturity & Discretion
