The Expansion Joints Machinist is responsible for making parts ready for welding and fabrication.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and prepare the operation.
  • Select best method of machining to achieve desired tolerance, speed and finish.
  • Perform calculation to form the work piece.
  • Monitor the feed rate and speed of the machine.
  • Select tools and materials for the job, plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations, and mark the work piece to show where cuts should be made.
  • Perform the necessary machining & grinding operations using equipment including but not limited to: a Beveling Machine, Plasma Torch, Hand Grinder, Hand Torch, Chop Saw, and Pedestal Grinder.
  • Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand all measuring devices.
  • Ability to operate a lift truck.
