Memory Community Caregiver |Make an Impact in Senior Living

Location: Astoria, OR
Schedule: Full-time Day shift
Pay: $16.50 to $22.19/hr. depending on experience and certifications

Clatsop Care Memory Community is seeking dedicated caregivers who are passionate about supporting residents living with Alzheimer's and related dementias. Whether you're certified or new to caregiving, if you have the heart-we can train the skills.


Duties Include:

  • Helping residents with personal care routines
  • Encouraging participation in daily life and social activities
  • Assisting with meals, hydration, and dietary needs
  • Performing light housekeeping and laundry tasks
  • Monitoring resident safety and behavior changes
  • Supporting team members in creating a positive care environment

What You Bring:

  • Caring attitude and patience for residents with memory loss
  • Good communication and observation skills
  • CNA certification is a plus but not required
  • First Aid/CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Physical ability to assist residents with mobility and lifting

Requirements

  • Ability to successfully complete all employee training components and provide return demonstration of knowledge and skills.
  • Must meet Division background check requirements.
  • Must demonstrate and interest in and ability to work with residents with dementia and challenging behaviors in a calm and confident manner.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize with multiple tasks, interruptions, and priorities.
  • Must have good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work with cleaning products in safe manner.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and the public.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move a resident by mechanical or non-mechanical means. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to focus.
