Job Description
AECOM's Water Business Line is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Water group in the Albuquerque, NM office. Your responsibilities will include the preparation of hydrology & hydraulic calculations and developing hydrologic and hydraulic models, permit applications, utility designs, grading and drainage plans with preferred emphasis on design over modelng. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong design skills and communication skills to support teams in a collaborative environment.
Job Description
  • Responsible for assisting with preparation calculation packages to support the completion of design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, alternatives analysis, technical memoranda, and design documentation reports.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculation and relatively simple tests.
  • Provides project leadership in the areas of design, investigation, analysis, and construction of water management systems
  • Support hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and drainage/civil design
  • Preparing and reviewing working drawings, plans, cost estimates, studies, reports, and other work products
  • Analysis and design of stormwater drainage system, hydraulic structures, and roadway drainage systems
  • Must be capable of performing independent tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • BS + 2 Years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency or experience and or education

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's in Civil Engineering or related field of study
  • 4 years or more of relevant experience
  • Professional Engineer OR (EIT) in New Mexico or ability to obtain within 6 months of work
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in stormwater evaluation and design (e.g., hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis, stormwater management design), construction monitoring and operations
  • Work with CAD designers to produce construction-level drawings including grading, drainage and roadway plans, profiles, details, and sections
  • Assist with hydraulic analyses and design of channels, culverts, bridges, flow measurement, and flood mapping
  • Write reports in support of calculation packages including proper documentation and references
  • Must be resourceful, highly organized, professional with attention to detail and people
  • Providing technical support to water infrastructure projects including: design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Preparation of technical reports, memos, and engineering design and construction related documents.
  • Strong analytical and computation skills
