Job description

A&M Technologies, Inc. has an opening for a Senior Network Tool Engineer to support the Intelligence Sector.

The job duties are as follows:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Cisco Network Services Orchestrator (NSO) solutions and associated network infrastructure components, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and service deployment issues, leveraging NSO logs and monitoring tools to perform root cause analysis.
  • Integrate NSO with various network devices, external systems, and APIs using protocols like NETCONF, RESTCONF, and JSON-RPC.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Java, or other relevant languages to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, including software upgrades (NED upgrades), patching, security auditing, and configuration backups for network devices.
  • Collaborate with network architects, software developers, and operations teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration of new solutions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to installations, configurations, and network processes. 

Requirements

Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years, master’s and 10 years, bachelor’s and 12 years, associates and 14 years or HS diploma and 16 years. Required qualifications include the following:

  • Must be compliant with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge and experience installing, upgrading, and maintaining software in a Linux (RHEL) environment.
  • Intermediate scripting skills are required (Ex. Python).
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Solid technical communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

Desired:

  • Proven experience in network administration or engineering, with hands-on experience in configuring Cisco and/or Juniper routers and switches.
  • Familiarity with YANG data modeling language.
  • Experience with network automation and orchestration tools, specifically Cisco Network Services Orchestrator (NSO).
