Job description

Childcare Administrator
We're growing our leadership team!
The Childcare Administrator provides leadership and operational support to ensure our early learning program runs efficiently, meets the highest quality standards, and complies with all state regulations. Applicants must currently hold a valid Texas Director's Certificate in accordance with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers. The Administrator will focus on strengthening program quality, supporting staff, and ensuring excellence in daily operations while fostering strong partnerships with families and the community.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational oversight to ensure the center meets or exceeds Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers and all licensing requirements.
  • Support curriculum implementation and classroom quality to promote children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and mentoring to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Partner with leadership to prepare for and maintain Texas Rising Star (TRS) certification and renewal, including staff training and classroom readiness.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for children, staff, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor safety, conduct regular inspections, and address any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Support budget management, supply ordering, and vendor coordination to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Assist with family communication, enrollment, and retention initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development planning and staff performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with community partners and represent the center at relevant events.
Required Qualifications
  • Holds a valid Texas Director's Certificate in accordance with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers.
  • Minimum of an associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field (bachelor's degree preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or operational support role within a licensed childcare facility.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Texas Rising Star (TRS) guidelines and quality improvement practices.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education best practices, health/safety regulations, and licensing compliance.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor staff while maintaining positive relationships with families.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in TRS assessment preparation and quality rating improvement processes.
  • Familiarity with child care management software.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
