Are process engineers in demand?

Process engineers are in high demand across various industries, including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and energy, due to their role in optimizing production efficiency and safety. In the context of cannabis processing, process engineers are increasingly sought after to develop compliant and efficient extraction and manufacturing methods, often requiring knowledge of industry regulations and process automation tools.

What is cannabis process engineering?

Cannabis process engineering is the field focused on designing, optimizing, and overseeing the processes involved in the cultivation, extraction, refinement, and production of cannabis products. Professionals in this role apply engineering principles to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant manufacturing, including extraction methods, purification, and formulation of cannabis-based products. They also work to improve product quality, reduce costs, and adhere to strict regulatory standards within the cannabis industry.

What are some typical challenges faced by Cannabis Process Engineers in maintaining regulatory compliance during production?

Cannabis Process Engineers often navigate complex and evolving regulatory requirements that govern the production, extraction, and processing of cannabis products. Challenges can include ensuring precise documentation, maintaining equipment calibration, and implementing robust quality control protocols to meet state or local standards. Staying current with compliance updates and working closely with quality assurance and legal teams is essential to avoid costly violations or production halts. Regular training and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) are key practices to help mitigate these challenges.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Cannabis Process Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Cannabis Process Engineer, you need a solid background in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering, often supported by a relevant degree and experience in regulated environments. Familiarity with extraction equipment, process automation systems, and adherence to compliance standards such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is essential. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you optimize processes and ensure product quality. These competencies are vital for maintaining safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance in the rapidly evolving cannabis industry.

Job description

Outside Sales Representative - Cultivator & Processor Accounts (Quartz Hardware)
Full-Time/Part-Time | Salary + Commission + Bonuses
About the Role
Vuber Technologies is expanding nationally and seeking an experienced and connected Outside Sales Representative (OSR) to introduce and scale our quartz cartridge and all-in-one device line in key markets across the U.S. This role is ideal for someone with an existing book of business in cannabis-specifically with cultivators, extractors, or producer/processors-who understands the importance of hardware consistency and is passionate about offering premium, reliable vaporization solutions to the market.

You'll serve as the link between high-quality extract producers and our best-in-class quartz hardware solutions. Your primary focus will be helping operators scale their product lines with Vuber's superior-performing, customizable hardware-especially our quartz carts and variety of all-in-one devices designed to preserve the integrity of their oil.
Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage your existing relationships with extractors and producers to pitch Vuber's quartz-based devices.
  • Coordinate sales meetings, sampling, and onboarding of B2B clients.
  • Educate potential clients on the difference quartz makes in flavor, consistency, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with internal team to ensure customization, logistics, and post-sale support.
  • Maintain detailed records of interactions, pipelines, and follow-ups using HubSpot CRM.
  • Represent Vuber at trade shows, cannabis conferences, and networking events.

Why Quartz Matters
In today's competitive cannabis market, farms can't afford hardware failure. Ceramic can clog, leak, or mute terpene profiles-especially in 2g formats or with live resin. Vuber's quartz-core tech is engineered for performance:

  • No clogging, consistent vapor
  • Preserves flavor integrity
  • 329% less silica shedding and safer from other harmful constituents
  • Scales beautifully from 0.5g to 2g
  • Customizable form factors, white-label ready

Helping operators protect their oil and brand reputation is what we do best.
Requirements

  • Proven relationships and experience selling into extractors, processors, or cultivators.
  • 1+ year in cannabis hardware or manufacturing preferred.
  • Familiarity with distillate, live resin, rosin, and other extraction types.
  • Strong communication, follow-through, and CRM tracking (HubSpot experience a plus).
  • Must be 21+ and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally/regionally.
